Description:

Arzano is a small canton named after a 12th century lord.

Arzano is in the department Finistere and covers 34.04 km².  The town is situated between the River Scorff and the River Le Laz.

There isn't a regular market in Arzano itself however there are several local markets in the area each week.  Check out the Guide2Brittany market section for more information.  Arzano has a small grocery store and a bakery.  For all other groceries there is a Casino supermarket 7 kms away in Plouay.

For clothes shopping and larger chains visit Quimperle which is only 8 km away.

Arzano has two 'Ecoles Primaires et Maternelles'.  The nearest 'College' is in Plouay (7 km) and the nearest Lycee can be found at Quimperle (8 km).

The town has one post office, one hair salon, several garages, a dentist, two doctors, a  pharmacy and a small library.   Arzano also has centrally located Gendarmerie.

For entertainment there is one restaurant and one two Cafe Bistros.

Arzano has two Chambre d’Hotes and a Gite complex.  There are several hotels and camping facilities in the region.

The main attraction in the town is 'l'Asinerie de Kergall' a donkey centre which focuses on breeding and donkey care.  You can also buy products made from donkeys milk such as soap and shampoo.  Regular activities for children are organised.

In August Arzano hosts the 'Festivalles Gens du Moulin' celebrating theatre and comedy.

Worth a visit:

• L'eglise Saint Pierre aux Liens - a church dating from 1641.

• Chapelle Saint Laurent - a pretty 16th century chapel.

The surrounding area has a great horseriding centre as well as canoeing, golf and fishing facilities.

Arzano has a number of leisure associations including drama and a club focusing on Breton culture.
