Description:
Fort La Latte is a fortified medieval castle made of pink sandstone. The castle is set on top of 70 metre high cliffs on the coast of North Brittany.
The Fort as it can be seen now was built in the 14th century on what was the site of an older 10th century castle. Fort La Latte has long history of being a place of battle and also has been a prison and a place where cannon balls were made. In the last 50 years several movies have used the Fort as a film location including the hollywood production 'The Vikings' in 1958 starring KirK Douglas and Tony Curtis.
Facilities include free parking, toilets and guided tours. The Fort is accessible to prams and wheelchairs.
